I was Born in the late 60's, during that
time my parents made a living selling
hand-crafted items at craft fairs. As a
small child, I can remember pounding
and stamping soft metals that would be
turned into jewelry to sell at the fairs.
Surrounded by creativity and a
collection of Dr. Suess books, this was
my beginning!
A self-taught artist, I am continually
experimenting with watercolor, mixed
media and cloth while adding design
and pattern into my work. The
inspiration for my work comes from my
fascination I have for people and color.
I often use color as a metaphor for an
emotion. Currently in my work you will
frequently see the repeated vine-like
image, this represents the idea that all
things are inter connected.
At this time in the creative process I
don't concern myself with realism too
much but more with communicating the
impression or a feeling in a piece. I
challenge myself with each painting or
drawing and enjoy the maturing process
as I evolve.
Art is a universal language, one that is
open to the interpretation of the viewer.
I encourage everyone to feed their
creative spirit, because life is not a
dress rehearsal.
