JAY STAPLEY
After a busy career as a session
musician working with artists as
diverse as Roger Waters, Suede,
Roger Chapman, David Allen Coe,
Scott Walker, Westernhagen, and
playing on film soundtracks
including "Withnail and I", Jay is
now performing and recording his
own material.
"Edge of the World" is Jay's new
CD: a collection of fresh and
intelligent songs featuring Jay's
stunning guitar-playing and
accompanied by some of the world's
finest musicians, including Steve
Pearce on bass (Van Morrison,
Hamish Stuart, Herbie Hancock,
Elton John, Sting, etc ) and Blair
Cunningham on drums (Paul
McCartney, The Pretenders, Haircut
100, etc.)
"Songs I wish I'd written" as one
reviewer put it...
"One of the finest guitarists of his
generation" said another.

New CD "Edge of the World" from Jay Stapley.
Well-known for his session/touring work with Roger Waters, Mike Oldfield,
Suede, Scott Walker etc., Jay has now released a CD of his own material.
From the anthem for the middle-aged man "Who I Am" to the blistering
guitar work-out on the fade of "Equilibrium" taking in the reflective acoustic
moods of "Shooting Star" and the blue-eyed soul of "Love Is A Mystery"
along the way, this collection of songs will inspire and entertain the
discerning listener.
Accompanied by some of the world's best musicians (Steve Pearce on
bass has worked with Van Morrison, Elton John, Herbie Hancock, etc.,
drummer Blair Cunningham from The Pretenders and Paul McCartney's
band, and percussionist Martin Ditcham from Chris Rea, Everything but the
Girl) "Edge of the World" manages to sound both contemporary and
classic at the same time.
