I am inspired to respond to the wonder and mystery of our
world,  through my art. My paintings are expressions of the
vitality and intrinsic beauty I find in quiet, serene moments
and simple objects. I enjoy painting portraits as well as still
life. When choosing subject matter, it is the small intimate
moments that attract me: an inquisitive glance, a look of
concentration and deep thought or sometimes the simple
observation of light and the way it plays upon its subject
captures my attention. I attempt to closely observe the way
light reveals form but also creates mystery.  Through
quiet, understated images I strive to share what intrigues
me, yet leave enough ambiguity so that the viewer may
come to his/her own conclusion about the work.
  I am a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design, and a
mother of three boys. While raising my children has been
my priority and privilege, art has always been a driving
force in my life. I must confess that it is through my
children that I have gained a greater appreciation for life
and it's marvels. Painting is a celebration of all that I find
beautiful. As my children become more independent I
intend to further pursue my artistic interests and grow as
an artist.
