MARINA TALIERA
Marina Edie Taliera was born in the south of France on July
25, 1983. She started drawing as a little girl sketching people
on paper.
"It was a way for me to remember them better.." "On my own , I
sort of started my own art history classes reading books, going
to exhibit , trying out the different techniques ..."
She had her first exhibit in November 2001 at a Santa Monica
Gallery and from there kept showing her work ...
"A lot of my artwork is inspired from places and people i met
along my travels. I usually paint faces, depicting mixed
ethnicities, people that could come from any country and
therefore belong everywhere ." I try and play a lot with colors
mixing bright and dark to bring some life and brightness and I
tend to work with different materials in order to give texture to
the pieces They just feel more alive to me that way.. My goal
isn't to reproduce the world to its perfection, Nature already is
the true artist. I guess I'm only expressing myself, decorating
those blank canvases coloring them with my own vision A
vision like any other persons, made of past experiences,
themes that I'm passionate about mixed with my day to day
experiences of the world... My style is evolving as I grow and
learn each and every day, Sometimes looking back on an old
painting I see something that could have been done differently,
but there's always time to start another one , a better one ..
No regrets... I'll always paint no matter what ... What I'm looking
for is only to share my way of representing what's around and
what caught my attention... and when people enjoy my work
and want to decorate their own blank walls with it its even
better ....
