Every painting contains a question and an answer,
even if they are not connected. My wish was not to
copy either photographs, or the paintings of artists... I
examined the artificial likenesses through the eye of
an Orthodox-iconographer in the atmosphere of their
artistic reality. In its essence, it is very far from the
religious art that I was devoted to until then. Still, the
reason for me to emotionally engulf myself into it and
reminiscence the Modern Art, was my belief that in the
works of those masters God-Justness (Equity) exists,
which is evident in the charismatic glumness we feel
before them... ...Weather I wanted it or not, the
completion of every painting has left me drenched with
the feeling that, after my role as the painter of the
portrait of the artist or as the interlocutor to a certain
subject, I came out as a mere model who took in their
life experiences. With diverse characters,
backgrounds, everyone very different and unique, they
crafted with great authority in this mystic, surreal way:
in silent exchange of joy for awakened art interacting
with my soul. At long last, I am deeply grateful for
cognizance of all my questions and answers. We
deciphered them together.
