Trio Caliente is comprised of longtime Washington musicians Deborah Benner, Michael Bard
and Amilcar Cruz. Together, the trio produces music that seamlessly fuses together elements
of Bossa Nova, gypsy rumba and contemporary flamenco with soothing jazz vocals and musical
arrangements. With songs that are sung in English, Spanish and Portuguese, Baila Me is a
diverse collection of tracks that highlight the band’s worldly musical sensibilities. Benner and
Bard have previously been featured on several TV and radio shows (including NPR’s “All
Things Considered”) and written up in the Washington Post and Jazz Times, as well as having
toured extensively throughout South America, the Middle East, Spain and Portugal. As Trio
Caliente, they (along with Cruz) plan on announcing more performances soon, both locally in
the D.C.-area and around the country.
